The Cold is setting In

Well it's that wonderful time of year where the weather starts getting really cold and I can't feel my fingers late at night. No I'm serious sometimes I can't feel my fingers properly when the night sets in. Jess says that gaming at night in winter gives you an idea of what it's like to have arthritis and she's right. It can feel like that.

Still I'd much rather be too cold than too hot. I've always said this. I prefer autumn and winter to summer. At least if you're too cold you can just put more clothes on or turn up the heat. I for one have a fuzzy dressing gown I enjoy wearing. If you're too hot then you're screwed really. So I don't mind the cold too much. I just wish we could do something about the heating in my house. It's been busted for years but my dad has never had someone in to take a look at it. We could never afford it I guess.

The only problem I have is that it makes working a little tougher. I like to work downstairs free from the distractions of my room. For some godforsaken reason the downstairs is much colder than the upstairs. So I get pretty cold and tired trying to work. Oh well. Let it never be said that I don't work hard.

How's the weather going where you are?

  1. "Hot air rises" is probably the godforsaken reason you're looking for.
And yet, for some reason, my room on the third floor of an apartment complex is freezing. Maybe because the sun only shines on the windows in the wee hours of the morning, leaving me in the cold for the rest of the day.
I totally feel the arthritis comment. My RSI actually gets worse during the winter because of vasoconstriction caused by the cold.

  2. Yes, cooler is better because you can always put a sweater on, whereas when it's hot, there's only so many clothes you can remove!
