The Dreaded Dry Spell

I'm going through one of the worst things that a freelancer can go through; a dreaded dry spell. I've not been overbooked since before I went on holiday. I've not even been fully booked. I guess I just went into Vacation Mode one too many times.

I'm not that worried right now because this isn't the first time something like this has happened. I've gone from having one or two jobs to being fully overbooked in a few hours before. But it is still a little worrying when the work doesn't flow. I'd much rather be overbooked than underbooked. I suppose I'll have to see what the next few days.

One advantage has been that I've had just enough work in terms of workload. I'm not working too late anymore. But I do hate looking and seeing that I only have a few jobs left to do. I do have one guy that I can rely on for a lot of work but I would be making about half as much as I usually do and it wouldn't really be enough to get by.

Here's hoping the next few days are busier for me.

  1. Surely there's a continues need for people to have their products shilled through carefully written texts. And sure their advertisement budgets are nowhere near empty. They never are. You'll be fine.

  2. I can understand - I'd be the same way. Stressed out if I had no work, stressed out if I did have work. Hope things level out.

  3. It'll come back. Enjoy the downtime.

  4. I'm in the same boat right now brother. I've only gotten orders from two regular clients over the past couple days.

Don't forget to subscribe to comments so you know if I say something back. If you want that is.
