The King Of The King Of Beasts

I did something this past week I haven't done in years. In fact it was so long ago I can't remember the last time I did it at all. I watched The Lion King. A really quite depressing, but overall incredible movie. I actually tweeted about watching it with my cat and hoping she didn't get any ideas. Other than using me as Pride Rock I don't think it affected her too much, plus she's been doing that for a while. It allows me to blame her for not waking up. Anyway, like most of the movies of Disney, it had an incredible soundtrack. This was made back when Disney movies were good you see, and they did have good soundtracks. So I'm just going to post a few songs from The Lion King. It's not my favourite Disney soundtrack (that would be Tarzan because of Phil Collins) but it's still a good one.

I don't know if this song was actually in any of the movies but I really love their rendition of it. Timon has a rather beautiful voice.

  4. I remember vividly going to see the Lion King at the movie theater. It's hard to believe it was so long ago, because it feels like a week ago.

  5. Yeah the whole musical-esque thing about Disney movies is absolutely great, and is what makes the lessons and stories they tell so much fun, especially fro a younger audience. Songs are fun and easy to understand after all, right?

  6. The most long-lasting legacy this movie gave to me is at Dairy Queen. Stay with me here...
(If you didn't know), Dairy Queen has a great ice cream/shake drink called a "Moolatte." It has chocolate, ice cream, and all sorts of caloric goodness in it.
As a joke one day, I called it a "Mufasa." Friends of mine started calling it that. Now, we have to consciously remember to call it "Moolatte" NOT "Mufasa."
Especially, since, after calling it a "Mufasa" one day, my friend got stampeded by a herd of wildebeest.

  8. Okay, you know my "boys" are 19 & 21 and they still watch this movie. Seriously, they watched it over the summer, I couldn't believe it when I walked into the bedroom and there they were, engrossed in it. They ran around for days after saying "Mufasa". Drove me crazy!
