Voices

Despite recent happenings I was in fact able to record a podcast last night. Or technically very early morning (which one is half one in the morning again?). In continuing with A-Z I chose the v-word "voices" and cheated and decided that because that was the subject, and it was a podcast, anything and everything I said fell under the topic. Though I did mostly stick to talk about voice, and what I can do to improve things. Enjoy folks.

I know some people have had trouble, and I have fixed it now. I hope. I've had some internet problems lately, and the file failed to upload last night. It failed to tell me it failed though. I've reuploaded, and republished it. Hopefully it works.

Huh, reuploaded isn't a word, but republished is. How bout that?

  6. I'm going to sample the shit out of this. My big take away question is, Why would you stop communicating if you're feeling low? hahah, loved the quick alphabet to v and nice shout out...Man, that was like a full circle of you've passed, you've earned it...unless you didn't...and then, bad things but no, really--you're ok. OK? hahaha, man.
And don't worry man, it does make sense.
You should try making video blogs, if you're having trouble finishing up. (IfyouknowwhatImean.)

    1. YES IT FUCKING WORKED FOR SOMEONE. I KNEW IT WOULD. When I get really low I have trouble speaking. Well, more trouble than usual. I'm not about to make videos though. I did it once, and it didn't go well. If I was to do it again, it would be with my Xbox I think.

  7. It's workin' now. Err, well, I have never had any trouble understanding what you're saying. I think you enunciate quite well. And you are very good at talking off the cuff. Maybe you should just have a live stream a couple hours a day or so, and your fans can tune in. You could even write your daily blog while doing the live stream and give play by play commentary. I mean like a live radio program. I don't know if I am expressing myself properly here. It could be like a Mark the Rambling Person internet reality program. All Mark, all the time.

    1. It's an interesting concept, and I've been thinking about it since the ABFTS boys comically suggested blogging live. I'm not so sure how well it would work though.

  8. You've gotten your spirit back! Yay! Thats good! And you are good at reading lines (like in our review!)! So yes you just need to build that confedence! (or just do things and not worry about having confedence or not!

This was a fantastic post! Very good energy good pacing and very enjoyable!

I second Jimmy Fungus's comment! We need a twenty four hour Mark reality program!! you could record a third of it in your sleep!

    1. I don't think I was that good. My mind works faster than my mouth and I end up fumbling words or skipping them. Plus like I said I have a monotonous voice, I have trouble conveying emotion in words. At least, when reading them.

I don't think I could do 24 hours. If I could work out maybe an hour or two a week, I would also have to solve the problems of what time to have it. There's no point in doing something live if people can't listen and interact.

  11. I love your voice, Mark! It's beautiful to me, I love your accent. Mine is awful. All nasally and New York LOL. And, I laugh every time I hear you say "zed" instead of "zee" because it reminds of Shaun of the Dead. (Not sure if you saw that movie?).

One of my kids has the same problems the same problems with shaving as you. He also wants a nice full beard but can't grow one either. It drives him crazy!

Good to hear you, Mark! Be well.

    1. I saw Shawn of The Dead, pretty good movie. I only say zee when I'm doing the "ABC" song, and it rhymes. That's about the only time I'll do it.

I think it's been a few months since I last shaved. No matter how long I wait, my "beard" hair just grows to a certain point and then stops. I really need to shave though. I think one of the reasons I feel so bad is because I look so scruffy.

  14. I'm like you, I feel like I'm shouting whenever I try to speak clearly. I slur my words a lot so I say as little as possible. Plus my mouth don't always cooperate with my mind. I rarely can say exactly what is on my mind.

I have also been in rather a depressive state lately. Quite stressed really. It makes me feel like nothing can make me happy, even though I'm surrounded by a beautiful family.

Hope things are getting better for you!

    1. I can very, very, very rarely say what is on my mind. The words are in my head, but they just won't come out. I'm a much better writer. I think that my blog has proved this point. I hope things are getting better for you too Dan. You do have a beautiful family, you have dogs, barbecues, and best of all, BEER. You have all the ingredients for a happy bloke.

  15. I don't need to shave either. I probably will be in my 30's when I can actually grow a real beard :(

  16. I am sure I mentioned this before, but your voice is very lovely. It's not even the accent, which is pleasant, but it's very soothing. It can be used as a cure for anxiety.

Tori Amos has a great song about a Northern lad.

I would love if you read something and recorded yourself. I love A.A. Milne poems. My favorite is Independence. If you could read that, oh, I would be a very happy woman.

    1. I think you're the first person to compliment my voice and not have it be about the accent. So I'll do anything you want. I would have done it anyway mind. I've found the poem, and it's rather short, so if you have any further suggestions/requests, I'd be happy to hear them.

Don't forget to subscribe to comments so you know if I say something back. If you want that is.
