L Is For Lingering Silence

Hey guys. It's another podcast with Bersercules. There are a fair few silences here. The main point of it was supposed to be the letter L, as I was trying to intergrate A-Z with podcasts so that it wouldn't take so long. Things didn't exactly go to plan though. Mostly on account of my current state of depression. I hope you find something in here to enjoy. PS Even though I tried to make it so that it recorded on joint stereo, and not each voice going to it's own speaker, it didn't work right, so if a voice is missing, either your speakers, or your headphones, are broken.

As per usual it's on the main site as well at http://ramblingperson.podbean.com/2012/05/23/silence-silence-errywhere/ if the embedded player isn't working.

  1. ...but it's cool having each voice coming out from a different speaker. It gives us the sense of coversationalism, and that damn better be a word.

I guess this is the last piece in the 3-piece-puzzle, then.

    1. Conversationalism isn't apparently a word but I do get what you mean. It can be seen like that I guess. There are always going to be more podcasts between the two of us, we get on well and the main problem here is just that I wasn't in a very good mood.

    1. Now I know that's a lie. That this was good that is. But who knows, it could be like Bersercules said, I was just too depressed to see the good in it.

    1. Liger is a pretty cool name, my middle name actually starts with an L. Hmm, that could have been a quick bit of a talking point.

  4. Lol. That was interesting.. hehe..

You ran out of words to say.. Adorable. But you could have just said that I'm pretty.. pretty cool, that is. Haha! Kidding.

Cool podcast.. but a loooot of pauses. ;D Lingering, indeed.

    1. Well I wasn't exactly the happiest of happy so I wasn't in a very talkative mood. I've said all that and more to you before :) I'll say it again too you beautiful creature :) It's not that I ran out of words to say, it's that I was wayyyy to nervous and shy to try to talk about you.

    2. Ahehe! Ditto. I'd be waaay too nervous to talk about you, as well. Even talking TO you, I go.. ............................................... huh? (speechless)

    1. Awww :( You missed me being cute trying to talk about a girl. I think you're the only one who has the problem so it must be something at your end :/

I hope I feel better too.

    2. It's weird because I could hear the them fine before. And the speakers work fine for movies and music etc. :-(

  6. You and Bersercules do a podcast, Nellie and Madeline do a podcast... I guess me and Rusty should do a podcast too. That way the world's three main english-speaking countries can be represented.

  7. There used to be a couple of radio talk show hosts in Chicago named Steve Dahl and Gary Meyer, and they were famous for long periods of dead air during their broadcasts. They could get away with it at that time because they were radio legends, kind of Chicago's version of Howard Stern. Well, I guess you and Bersercules can also get away with it, because you are legends of the blogging circuit.

  10. I'm always shocked at what movies you haven't seen! Pulp Fiction, Deliverence! You should watch them!

Dang that was good podcast! I hope one day years from now you go back and listen to these podcasts!

  11. LOL this podcast was a bit awkward but funny. Some other good examples of the nickname P. "I've got to go, P.", "Let's go P". L for lingering silence is a good description. You know Mark, for being the rambling person you don't ramble a lot.

  12. Silence can either be awkward or funny. I think it was... well, both. But still funny. I'm with Matt, I just want to see you ramble. Like ADHD style. Just off the wall, a topic a second, I can't even follow along kind of rambling.

    DO IT.

  13. If you are worried about silence maybe you should have a shot of something flammable before recording. Most of the people recording podcasts on deathsquad are under the influence when they record their podcasts.

Well...unless you are under the drinking age..I cannot legally endorse that.

You don't need to worry about the podcast silence. I could totally hear you open up more after Bersercules started talking about Anita and Atea Dick. Perhaps you guys should break the ice with more dick jokes when you start each podcast.

  14. I have to admit, as the pauses went on, I just imagined Bersercules doing one of his movie reviews, smirk on his face!

  15. hm i can barrely hear a thing, is this my fault or is the recording faulty?

  16. you and Bersercules are a regular Batman & Robin. You can fight over who gets to be batman if you'd like...don't think anyone wants to be robin you know?

  17. Thanks for the lovely comment, Charlotte's Web is a lovely book, a children's book so reading it at this age can be a bit trying at some points but it's still a lovely read for all ages. I hope you get out of your slump soon, depression's a bitch when it wants to be. xxx

  18. my laptop isn't working righ and it won't play or it'll take forever to load. gonna check back on it later and see if it works then :)

  19. Yep. Typical. The day people are uploading videos and soundfiles I can't listen to them because I'm in a library.

  20. I can't pick out a single favorite anything. I hate it when people ask me what's you're favorite such and such? Hell I don't know, i like them all! Yet alone favorite L word. Hmmm? Luggage?

I think Bersercules should fill those awkward pauses with his famous "WTF?"

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why are you reading this comment when you should be watching Pulp Fiction?

  22. I love your voice! :P I actually preferred it with 1 voice per speaker! :) x

  23. My favorite Dee is Sweet Dee from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
The silence is making me feel weird. I don't like silence. Strange thought are beginning to form.
In high school, a girl named Anal stole my boyfriend. It was pronounced Ah-na-hall.
I agree with Bersercules. Most people don't like to talk about their depression. If I am feeling emotionally ill, I know the only way to get through it is to talk about it, but most people don't work that way, so I don't ask.
