Questions, Questions, Questions

I'm here once again with another Ramblingcast that, as I mentioned on Twitter, clocks in at 18 minutes. It's kind of long because I tackle two issues. The first is my current mental health, and the second is me answering 13 questions. 11 set by the Indistinctive Writer in a tag, and the other two asked by you. I asked for questions and I only got two. Well, whatever. I had fun doing it. So if you love my voice, just sit back, relax, and enjoy me making sweet love to your ears.

As per usual if you can't find it it's http://ramblingperson.podbean.com/2012/04/04/questions-questions-questions/

  1. It hurt to hear you speaking so candidly at the start of this audio file about the problems you're going through. If you think you're depressed buddy then as soon as possible go and get that therapy, it did wonders for me and I have a feeling it would do wonders for you too.

    1. I didn't think it was that big a deal to talk about it like that, but I'd probably not be able to do that in front of a therapist. It feels like I'm talking to myself when I do these.

  2. Therapy can work wonders, but try to avoid SSRIs if you can. I mean, I'm not a doctor so don't take my advice as gospel, but there's enough info out there to throw doubt on the efficacy of SSRIs. I was offered them many years ago for depression, but I refused the medication and I'm glad I did. Kudos on seeking help though, it takes bravery and a willingness to get better so you're half way there already :)

    1. I don't really know what an SSRI is if I'm honest, but I'll remember to avoid them if they come up.

  3. I am sorry to disagree with you, but Darren Hayes is not attractive. He needs more body hair. That's what makes a man sexy. Loads of body hair.

As far as president of the world is concerned, it doesn't matter when McDonald's continues to be the dictator. :)

You answered my question. I am so happy. This is what it feels like to be a winner!?! Hey, if you want, I'll let you borrow Madeline Lore.

By the way, I am so happy to hear you have made an appointment to start seeing a therapist.

    1. I'd like to borrow Madeline some time but I imagine the time difference could make it difficult sadly. She's pretty fun though. If we could arrange something I'm open to it. Anyway, I think you're a cool person and all, but no one disputes the beauty of Darren Hayes. He is God on Earth. It is true though that whoever is the president of McDonald's is the real presidente of the world.

    2. We talked about his, and we both love the idea of recording a podcast with you. Most weekends, we don't go to sleep until 6 or 7 morning.

    3. Well I don't think I'll need to keep you up that late. I'm open to doing it midnight my time, which is about 6pm for you guys I think. Or just some time during the day that's not too early for you guys. This has the potential to be awesome.

  5. I think your "trousers of many pockets" would be a great topic to write an Andrew Lloyd Weber musical around. Here's the plot: you have this wonderful trousers of many pockets, but you also have 12 brothers, who are all jealous of your trousers...so they steal your trousers, throw you into a pit, and sell you into slavery in Egypt. Through an unforeseen series of twists and plot turns you become Pharoah, and sing lots of songs, and dance a lot too. Thank you for answering my question in the podcast. I didn't even know you were going to do that, and I mentioned you in my own entry...the one entitled "Why is Ron Burgundy funny?" That was uncanny. I am kinda bummed I was not on your sexiest men alive list though.

    1. Sadly I think that there's already something like that in existence. If I was going to go into a list it would probably have lasted a lot longer than 18 minutes.

  6. now, dont take this the wrong way. i think most bloggers always will have room for improvement, but i think you should work on your pronounciation a little bit, make it more clear. sound more confident. ya know? keep it up though, i know you can do it.

    1. Hehe don't worry about forgetting. I was a bit sick yeah, but I soldiered on. My trousers themselves only have 7 pockets, altogether I think the most pockets I've ever had at once is 12. Though the ones in my coat are huge.

  8. Bart has a bit of a point. You don't need to shout everything you say, but your demeanor is very soft and quiet when you start out, until you really get into the the meat of the podcast... then you start talking more confidently, more sure of yourself. I like that. You should try to do that more often.

Also, don't be afraid of therapy. We all need a little help here or there.

    1. Well with this one it's kind of understandable, I was talking about something deeply personal, and then I started having fun doing the questions, and it sort of worked itself out.

  9. We will always worry, even if you're doing well. We're like a mother. ;D
Never talked, even with your psychologist? Talking about things is important man, take that from me. Now that I've got people to talk to about stuff, I can just vent some things sometimes, which feels great.

Horror is terrible. Fun movies are much more, ahum, fun.
Yeah like we discussed before, pockets are amazing and can't do without 'em. I just don't use as much as you, haha! ;D (Also phew you do change your clothes.)
Also I'm not the most sexy man in the world? Disappointed. ):
Not the sexiest woman either. Dude, I thought you loved me.
    Hehehe ;D
Also that's right, YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT, YEAH!
Kitty McFluffy, whahahaha! Great one 8D
...I wore a mini-skirt once. ...I still have it laying around. ...best birthday ever.
    Born a grammar-nazi? Bad-ass indeed. I admire you.
Am I the second Mark you said entered your life?

    Also I didn't ask a question? Fuck me, that's stupid. |:
Do another one and include this one:
A fantasy novel writer gives you a sort of counterpart in his/her novel. What would you be like?
Aka you're a fantasy character, describe yourself. Traits, powers, legacy, etc.

    1. FINE you're the sexiest hermaphrodite. I'm kind of disappointed I didn't spell that right. Oh well. You're the second Mark I remember yeah, I don't think I've met any others. Seeing as I've been asked other questions too I'll probably do some kind of bonus one with the new questions.

Thank you for the worry but I do think it's misplaced.

  10. if you're really feeling depressed, therapy can help. but if this helps you get those feelings out and express yourself, that's good too

  11. I find I disagree with therapy sessions. Only you can know what you are feeling and what you need to do...and believe me, I have been in therapy, had psychiatrists, community support and everything going. But, what I find helps me most is talking. Talk, talk, talk, because whatever you are going through, you can bet that someone else has been through it too...and come through the other side unscathed.
You can't learn everything from books, and these doctors don't know half of what they are saying unless they have experienced it themselves. I know from experience that it was ME who wrecked my body, no one else did it to me, I wasn't forced to do these things. For that, I'll be on medication for the rest of my life.
I find it easier to write my thoughts down rather that actually talk about them, and I feel that the time is coming near for me to just write about myself. Does that sound selfish? :(

    1. If I went into psychology (Hayes willing one day I will) I will become the kind of one you like. Someone who has been through it themselves. That's the kind I hope to find as well really, but sometimes it's just a matter of potluck. Which sucks, but I'll get by. I'm sorry about your body, but you recognise it was your own doings that caused it, which is a very mature thing to do. As for writing my thoughts out, I can do that fine, I prefer to write about my problems, but I don't follow my own advice. I can find the answers for everyone, and can sometimes find my own, but I'm not any good at going through with it.

  12. Kitty McFluffins is an AWESOME name! :D

And I'm glad that you are going to have some therapy sessions, Mark. It'll do you some good.

  14. I grew out of horror movies because I can't get scared by them anymore. The best I can hope for is getting grossed out by gore. Being exposed to Tales from the Crypt nightly growing up will desensitize you to that stuff I guess.

Also, good luck with the therapy. Hope things get better for you.

    1. I'm desensitized to gore and violence really but that doesn't mean I don't jump when surprised.

  16. OMG~ you sound so English! LOL... Well if your therapy doesn't work then why go through with it? Each person has a different way of coping with depression and stress
Actually I've been so burned out for the past 6 months with my job. I've been so depressed and moody up to the point that I hated myself for being in that situation.
But you know what, I just snapped and said "WTH... I'm no slave. I can make my own choices" I quit my job.
Now I feel so much better. Life will always be just a series of ups and downs.
When I was younger, I was fat, short, had acne and asthma and I fainted a lot. I wanted to be normal so bad... But what is normal anyway? There's no such scale.
All this world needs is not "normal" people... it's people with good hearts ^_^ so cheer up!

    1. Well being English will make me sound English :P I'm glad you took stock of your life, and you were able to do something that would have been beneficial to you and got out of there.

  17. Great podcast.
I know it sounds really cliche, but in terms of the stuff going on with your mental health, admitting and acknowledging you need help is a really big step!! Good look with it mate! You've always got your loyal readers to vent to :D

  18. Hrmph, we really are two opposites, ain't we? 'S coo though bro - y'oughta know by now that I'm down with all types and what-not.

If therapy will help, go for it...but I gotta warn you, I'm all about that holistic, tough-love style approaches. I've only ever gone to anyone else for help maybe..I dunno, once, methinks, in the past four years? And that was only recently.

But I do recognize the value therapy can have, and how much of a help it can be.

    Keep up the podcasts dawg!

  19. You definitely are Mark the Rambling Person... but Mark the Badass sounds cool too! Fuck baby talk!!

You don't get mini skirts? I'll explain them then! The woman wears the mini skirt so you (a guy) can see their legs and get a boner! Then lift up their skirt (with their permission) and then insert your dick in to their vagina! Easy access! Fun times! Don't worry, I'll buy your daughter one!

You talking solo is pretty cool! But if you like the give and take of two people talking, pretend your two people and talk to your self! Thats what I do!

    What is your dream name?

    What is your dream girl/boy?

    What is pie?

You can be in my fight club!

(ps I asked you questions on your other post! But you didn't answer them here...)

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well I recorded this before you asked the questions so that's why. I get the point of mini skirts I just don't really see why a girl would want to wear one. If I had a daughter and she wore a mini skirt I'd probably shoot something. I think some more people asked me questions but I've kinda forgot them, got to find them.

      Delete
    2. So? Why didn't you use time travel to get the questions? I think girls wear them to show off there bodies and make men go gaga for them! Its womans way of controlling people! Why would you hate if your daughter wore mini skirts? Is it cause you think of all the dirty things you've thought about woman wearing them and then worry about guys doing that to your daughter? If you had a son would you let him wear mini skirts?

      Delete
    3. I think I'll be the kind of dad who does say "You're not going out dressed like that!" and not because she isn't looking slutty enough. If I had a son and he started wearing them though, I'm not sure how I'd react other than the initial confusion.
