Rambling On

Hey guys. I have for you today another podcast. This one marks a slight change because it's one that, shock, I'm not too happy with. I actually felt nervous about doing a recording for the first time in a while. I figured that once I got over it, I would stay over it, but I guess not.

Another reason I wasn't too fond of it is that the subject matter, confidence, didn't last as long as I thought it could, so there was some empty spaces and I am kind of all over the place.

On the plus side, I guess, I made a random podcast that Bersercules wanted me to make.

As per usual I'm here;http://ramblingperson.podbean.com/2012/03/28/rambling-on/ if I'm not here.

    1. Hey I consider myself good with advice. I've been in your situation before and I don't want you to end up like me.

I wouldn't wish that on even my worst enemy.

  2. I love your voice. Tricky subject but I love how you handled it.

    1. Thank you. It could have been a bit tricky in places, but any trickiness here was probably caused by me.

  3. Something happened to the sound after the first 3 1/2 minutes. It cut out, and then sounded muffled. Like my terrible Skype connection with Madeline.

That's the thing about exercise, you never know if your mind will be sharp right after, or if it will just want to shut down.

    1. Yeah I'm not sure what happened really, I can try and do some tests or I can just leave it. I really overworked myself too much, I should have expected brain death really.

  4. I hate that this is posted while I am still at work and the player won't function and that I am not going to be home all day, because I REALLY want to listen. Stupid work. Grrr....

    2. Yaaaaaaaaaay! It worked for me!!! And as far as confidence goes, the simple fact you are doing any of this - especially the podcast - shows that you are more confident than you think! Notice how I have nothing like that on my blog...just saying!! Just keep doing it and it gets easier.

  5. Your voice is a lot clearer, confidence is just an act with me that I back up with perceived intimidation, another Q&A would e good!

    1. The microphone is good for clarity, but it seems it can only hold it for a few minutes.

  6. I'll take a listen when my cubicle gets quiet. :)

  7. I'm with Nellie, after about 3:45 or so it started sounding pretty wonky and was a little hard to understand.

Anyway, that's the thing about confidence, is that it's not something you can teach. I can't really give you any advice about it. All I can say is you're an awesome guy and I hope you're able to find that confidence so you can continue to show everyone else how awesome you are.

    1. Thanks, I hope that I can continue to be that too, but current factors are pointing towards no.

  8. Is this with the new mic? Sounds different, better!

Also the "that's what she said" jokes are always worth it to make.

And like the others said, look into the muffled sound.

    YESSS DO THE Q&A PODCAST

    1. I'm going to do another Q&A don't worry. This is with the new mic but there seemed to be problems with the quality taking a sudden dip.

Talk about your first favourite TV show.
Talk about your favourite blog post.
Talk about your favourite comments on blogger.
    Talk about cheese.
Talk about your feelings on the Ninja.
Talk about your favourite jokes, tell your favourite jokes.
Talk about what you'd do in a zombie apocolypse.
Talk about what you'd do if you became a superhero.
    These aren't suggestions... they're commandments.

    1. Well thanks for all the commandments. I will work on them, there's probably several weeks worth of podcasts in there, or I could turn a few into posts.

  12. The voice quality sounded clear for the first three minutes or so, then it went wonky, then it went back to normal.

And believe me, you do a much better job at these podcasts than if I were to try them. It takes enough confidence to have your voice be broadcast on the internet like this!

    1. It can take some confidence for that, but I just didn't think about it that much. I did at first, but once I was comfortable with talking, then it came easy. Then for some reason, I stopped being comfortable with it.

  13. Grrr, my computer has been down these past couple of days so I didn't get to listen to you. :(

I'm having to get a new router so I can kind of get back to normal. I just hope that people don't forget about me! :)

  14. Yessum. Well,if I was going to do a podcast it would be a daunting task. So I would not do one after an intense workout, I would do one when I am feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed. I bet you would feel more comfortable in your podcasts if you did them with your friend Jessica, because then they would be powered by that "unstoppable force of best-friendy love." If you find taking notes is tedious, maybe just write down a list of subjects you wanted to talk about, then you can refer to it if need be. And, personally, if I was going to read something, like you were mentioning, ... my mind would probably be drifting too...What I would do to counteract this problem would be to drink a cup of coffee before the reading, in addition to being well rested, which would help me focus. Though I suppose if you were just going to wing it, the caffeine would make you feel more tense, so it's a two-edged sword I suppose. Anywho, those are some of my suggestions if I were to do a podcast, which I don't even have the courage to do to begin with, so I don't know why I am giving suggestions. Perhaps you will find some of them useful.
Perhaps not. It is difficult to say.

  15. I somewhat think that trying to be confident is a placebo effect that actually makes your more confident.

    ReplyDelete
  16. For someone who was nervous you didn't really sound nervous.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm pretty impressed how you managed to talk about nothing really for 11+ minutes

    ReplyDelete
  18. Arghhh I can't listen to ittt! I think cuz im on my phone? But I'll check it out soon on my comp :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah when you stop reading for a bit it does tend to get a bit hard to get back into it. Btw I really like and have been meaning to ask you about the design of your blog, perhaps do something on that?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Something about the design? It's a default blogger template with a lot of gadgets really.

      Delete
    2. Guess ill have to look into it a bit, always thought yours seemed really well set out.

      Delete
    3. Well that is the gadget arrangement and the widths. A fair bit of work went into it but for the most part it's default stuff.

  20. Awww, all it takes is a bit of confidence and finding something you enjoy to podcast about, right? I mean me and Ace just did a three-freaking-hour (just about, counting the opening and closing song) podcast, and you can hear our love of the King of Fighters universe and SNK Playmore themselves in it.

Just gotta find what you can blare about and go for it, y'know?

  21. whoa..you don't sound nervous at all :)
