I'm Ill, Here's Some Comedy

I spent most, okay pretty much ALL of yesterday laid up in bed ill. I was ill Friday but it wasn't that bad. Though in some ways it's not been as bad today. My sore throat went and so I was able to drink. To be honest I spent the day watching the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies. The first three that is. A day spent watching them is not a day wasted at all. Anyway, the title promised comedy, so here is some comedy. It's another awesome sketch by Fry and Laurie, and the end line is just amazing and one of the funniest lines I've ever heard.

PS I have no posts ready for next week at all. Eep. I've been too ill and really messed up these past few days to write, or even think of things to write about. It's not good at all.

  1. I used to watch this show all the time. When Hugh went Stateside to do House and all the American women thought he was sexy I thought "Your'e kidding me." None of them had seen this or seen him in Black Adder. Not sexy at all in these!!

I hope you get feeling better soon. Stay in bed and get well.

    1. I'm already feeling better :) I think he's actually pretty hot. He looks a lot better as House with the beard, but he wasn't too bad in Blackadder.

  2. I... could do a guest post to fill up one of your blogging days?

Also, you'd better not get really sick man. The blogosphere needs you. Your presence outweighs that of the entire population of squealing teenage fangirls in here. And we don't want to disrupt that balance now do we?

    1. We've discussed the guest post on Twitter. As for the other bit, ha. I don't think my presence is that mighty, or needed, but as you can see, even when ill, I try to give you something.

  3. Why are Britcoms so much funnier than American sitcoms??

    1. You know I never really drew that correlation. Pirates did actually help subdue my fever. Until I got Pirate Fever.

  8. So sorry to hear about your bug. It's funny how I've got my "sick videos" I watch when I'm ill and I need comfort food for the mind. There's "Sound of Music," (hey, I'm a girl!) any version of "Pride and Prejudice," and "Stranger Than Fiction." Depending on how sick I am, I may visit all of these while lying on the sofa. Thanks for the Fry and Laurie video. I love their stuff.

  10. I hope you feel better soon. Strangely enough I think I may have seen that same video for the first time quite recently... not too sure, but for some reason it rings a bell. And Pirates is always good. Especially when you have to stay in bed and therefore have an excuse to sort of do nothing else all day. :'DD. Do hope you haven't been chugging the rum like a swashbuckling (sky)pirate. Remember, the Leading Man never gets a hangover. x'DD.

    1. If the leading man never gets a hangover I will be fine, and always the leading man! I think it's because you recently saw another Fry and Laurie video I posted before :) One day I WILL be a Sky Pirate. Then the whole world shall bow before my mighty airship!

  14. I hope you do feel better soon. All I ask is that you don't lapse into the "Man Cold."

  17. Speaking as one who was ill earlier, it sucks and the coughing fits I went into afterwards also sucked.

  19. It's that one man from House. I actually don't watch that show, but people do. Maybe I am not a person. I am part siren, and part alien. I am glad you're feeling better. Ican see from your response to Mai Yang.
