Skyrimming Once More

I just had to share this video with you. There was no way I couldn't. Jessie shared it with me and I just didn't really know how to react. The word "epic" is thrown around a lot but this one does deserve that. It's slightly late but it's a totally dignified and accurate reaction to the Skyrim trailer. It's kind of a shame that this feeling wears off when actually playing the game.

Also you may have noticed a new look. When the new reply buttons came out, I noticed that Hazel had a little pen next to her comments, and some people even had highlighted comments. I came to the conclusion that I had screwed with the html so much that I didn't get the default settings. I then changed the blog template, so it would reset to total default. I picked the wrong template, because I'm a moron, but I thought to myself that the new look wasn't so bad, and decided to keep it. I would like to think this is the last time I play with the look and layout, but I've said that before.

  1. People have highlighted comments? I haven't seen anybody with those!

And I don't know why your message "Don't forget to subscribe..." is above the comment box when mine is below it. So annoying. It doesn't look right below it =/

    1. I've always seen mine below it too. I think it depends on what template you have. Jessie has highlighted comments but I can't remember where else I saw it.

  2. Okay after I posted that comment your message is now below the box O_o

    1. Typical Blogger. Anything new is always a bit glitchy

    2. Ooooh people are replying to eachother now, yay!

    3. Nice, I didn't know you could do that.

    4. So far Bersercules is the only guy I've known to comment on the comments of others.

  3. The new comment thing is a good idea and I am always changing my template. Get bored with it after a while

    1. Threaded comments have been something people have waited years for really. I'm surprised it took them this long, then I remember it's google we're talking about here.

  4. The current look seems fine, actually. I too like the new commenting system.

    1. It definitely seems a lot more organised. The old look seemed very mishmashed to me.

  5. All about the new commenting thing...great idea that I don't know why wasn't implemented sooner. And I like your look - mine gets changed every couple of months at least!

    1. I'd like to finally settle on a new look. It took so long to implement because like I said, Google.

  6. Seems good enough, really.
But if you need some really heavy-duty stuff to get done, don't hesitate to ask!

    1. Take care of Fluttershy and then we'll discuss the blog. But no I'm happy with the blog how it is. Cheers for the offer though.

  7. Good Morning Mark !!!
I am never going to catch up with all the reading I missed while away, so let's pretend I have read all your posts and my comments got lost in the switch over to the new system.

Too late now (but for anyone else who sees this) all you needed to do was click "revert widget templates" in the HTML editor. Sucks that we lost our highlighted comments but I am going to try something later on and see if I can get them back while keeping the new system. I'll let you know how it goes.

    1. I have a pen next to my name, I can deal with that. I really just wanted something that distinguished me as the author :) It's a shame all your comments were lost though :(

  10. Skyrim... I don't get it. :|

I love replying to comments.. and this new comment threading feature rocks. It makes replying to comments much easier, and it's neat too look at. :) Though I haven't seen any highlighted comments.. :)

    1. I don't really want to explain the dirty joke but Skyrim is a game that gives you the feeling in the video. I've seen very few highlighted comments. Like I said it seems to be a feature in only a few of the templates.

    2. oh, I see. Hmm, for what it's worth, I think the video's funny and cool. :P

Yeah, maybe so. I want to have highlighted comments on my blog, but I'm too lazy to change my template. :D

  11. Hahahaha nice template :) sometimes it's nice to *mix things up* once in a while.

    Fancy video :D I laughed.

  13. You can play with your blog design any time you want. It's your creation. I like the change with comments however I'm now having issues with opening up some blog posts. I get blank pages. Nothing ever goes smoothly with changes!!

    1. It really doesn't nah, but I'm wondering how just a change in comments could cause problems like that O_o

  14. Skyrimmmmmm, that game is like world of warcraft but only 5% as addicting

    1. I meant skyrim is less addictive lol

    2. Hmmm, I'm not too sure on that one. The only advantage WoW has is that you might have some friends on there. I think when you start both of them they're very addictive but overall WoW is actually slightly more addictive but only because of new content.

  15. I had a similar feeling about Guild Wars. I don't play anymore but that game will always hold a place in my heart.

One improvement I'd dearly like to see would be the ability to Reply without reloading the entire page. That gets annoying.

    1. That would be a nice improvement to see. I've not played Guild Wars. Heard a lot of good things about it, but I have too many MMO's already.

  16. I still have to try it, as soon as I have free time (summer lol) I will search a copy through ebay and play 24/7

  18. I think the last frame of that video has enough going on in it to be worthy of becoming a meme if it's not already being shared around the inner-webs of tubes and webs.

    1. I got that excited playing the game but like I said it wears off. I wasn't dangerously excited before playing the game actually.

  25. Having never played the series, I can't say that the trailer would induce chubification. I detest that type of trailer for a video game, but for some strange reason, I like when movies do it.

    1. I do think that with a game, the trailer should have more to it. You're paying more and you're going to put more in, you should go in with as best an opinion as you can form.
