A Music Post, For Once

I couldn't really think of a fun comedy routine to post, so I thought I would cop out, and post a song. Given the news this week, maybe this will be appropriate. So here for you today I have something by the gone but not forgotten Michael Jackson. It's a great one, with Heal The World. Regardless of what the may or may not have done with his personal life, he made some beautiful music, with some great messages, and this is one of them, so let's try to remember him for that. Or at least, let's try to remember the messages he sent out with his music.

  1. I think Michael Jackson was extremely misunderstood and there are a lot of things which went on in his life which people don't know about.
I might be writing on my blog about it soon :)

I'm not a big fan of his music, though I do respect him as a person. But 'heal the world' is one of the few songs which I like by him. Great message :)

  3. I think PurpleMist is right. A lot happened to MJ growing up that could have warped his way of acting and as a celebrity he never spent lots of time around people in any normal way that he could have learned how to act from. If you look at it through a psychologic way his actions make more sense and you can understand the guy better.

  4. Wow.. I love this song.. I remember singing this song in a high school play. Such a wonderful message to heal our world, since we only have ONE.

People should really listen to this song. Like.. ASAP. REALLY.

  6. @PurpleMist The guy seemed to have a lot of problems with his personal life, but he never seemed to let it interfere with his music either. Regardless of what he did, he was a good man, with a good soul. He's rocking out with Jesus now.

@Lowfrequencytherapies That was the news I was referring to :) I think he still has the mantle King Of Pop.

@Bersercules That is how I like to look at it. He never really grew up, he never really had much of a child hood, and he'd been exploited by one person to the next. His childlike innocence was also one of the things people liked about him though.

@Leah Well hopefully everyone who comes here today will listen :)

@Orang3 I doubt very few people do really know him.

  7. I love the message of this song, if only songs can really heal the world, I would gladly sing it with all my heart even if I'm out of tone. haha!

  9. @Mai Yang I think songs and music can heal the world, as long as enough people are listening :)

@Fang Sadly not far enough though lol.

  11. Too optimistic for me. I don't like happy music.

  12. I'm enough of an idealist that I always liked this song.

  13. Was there a reason I missed that you'd have put up a comedy post today?

  16. I am a huge fan of The Jackson Five's music. More then I am a fan of Michael's music, haha! But, I really enjoyed his music and whatever he did with his personal life is none of anyone's business, lol.

  17. @My 2 Pesos It really is.

@Heaven You don't have to be a fan of his music to be a fan of his message :P

@Interwebs Fail I'm not that into happy music but hey this is still good.

@Kim Nothing wrong with a bit of idealism :)

@Henry I was basically too tired and couldn't find one on short notice. I left it pretty late to think of something. Funny services may be resumed next week.

@Mike It is, but at least he's possibly happier now. The guy had a rough life.

@Shaw it's one thing I admire about him. He never seemed to let life get him down.

@Jodie-Ann Well people will dispute that last claim, but he was a really good musician.

  19. @2Peeps Not really but it's still good.

@R.Gers I listened to it a lot as a kid. My mum had it as a single and I'd just listen to it. All the damn time.
