Round Up Episode 2: The Post Wars

Okay first off I'm sorry if I was late getting to your blog or missed a post entirely. Blogger is not updating my reading list very well. Sometimes I actually get a tweet about a post you've made about an hour before it shows up on my reading list. So if I miss something, my apologies. Okay onto the weekly round up of...well, this week. I'm not a sell out, no siree.

On Monday I wrote a poem filled with metaphors and other goodness. It actually got a positive response, which was something I was quite amazed about. Thank you for that :)

On Tuesday I talked about a couple of things actually. Originally it was supposed to be a short post about how I was going to be an usher at my sisters wedding, and how I now have another reason to lose weight, but then I got an award, and I also turned that into an award post. So that's what happens when I try to make a short post, something makes it longer.

On Wednesday I shared some of the things I had made on the game Minecraft. This would be a short post if you took out the pictures, but then it would also be a useless post! The comments from this post have actually made me go back and do some more work, so it's looking bigger and deathier than ever.

On Thursday I did the second part of my Things School Didn't Mean To Teach You. This time it was "Once an outcast, always an outcast". We came to the conclusion in comments that this was not always the case.

And finally on Friday I made a post about my idea for Apple. I want them to make an interactive wall.  Holy mindfuck maybe the i in all of apples products stands for "interactive". If this is the case I can't believe I'm only noticing it now. Or maybe it stands for "i'm gullible and will buy anything these people put out even though it's overpriced and everyone can name a lot of problems with the company such as them putting out things that are already obsolete and using sweatshop labour...Pod".

Because I hate to not share anything new with you guys, here is proof that I'm not trying hard enough.

These are the readability results of two of what I consider my rantiest and possibly longest posts. These are my posts on why I believe in God (or more accurately really WHAT I believe about God) and why video games do not turn people into violent killers and all the joy they bring to the world. Thank you to http://www.read-able.com/ for these results.

So you see folks, even though it's a round up, I still try to give you things, it's still worth coming here on Saturdays. I do have a question though, what are your thoughts on this week? I took a more simple, let's have fun approach, and didn't do something that blows your mind every day, and I'm just wondering how you guys felt about that. Better? Worse? No real difference?

  3. @A Lunatic Pope Thanks for the kind words ^^ I left a little link in there of where I got it from http://www.read-able.com/. It was quite fun actually to do. Plus wow I use a lot of words.

@Fang lol it's cool :) As long as you liked it. It's just proof that when a stripper gets home the last thing she wants to do is take her clothes of.

  4. hahaha!! I'm one grade ahead of you. I got an average grade level of about 6, and it said it should be easily understood by 11 to 12 year olds.

I don't know if I should be happy, or if I need to start advertising at middle schools.

  5. @Pope I find myself slightly disappointed, like I said it's proof I'm not working hard enough :) But advertising at middle schools might help. A better solution is to buy an xbox 360, xbox live, whatever the latest call of duty game is, and just start shouting your link over voice chat.

  11. @Henry I don't know if any come here but they should be able to read it.

@Hasidic Plumber Thanks ^^ I wanted to get a bit higher really

@DWei Haha that's more than likely because your blog uses less words, so has a higher percentage of complicated ones :P

  13. @Hazel The secret ingredient is love...juice. Nah my guess would be that I still put some effort into it, I don't just say "Hey this is what I did this week".

  14. I have to go and get my grades now, they can't be any worse then my school reports.

I still have them, when my Mum died and we cleared her house I found them. God only knows why she kept them, it can't be because she was proud lol.
    They are hilarious.

  15. @Dirtycowgirl mine were pretty good. I got good results in everything but PE (well, passable results) the only complaint I ever really got was that I messed around too much, and drifted off easily.

  17. Kind of scared of this program, although probably will try it out.

Not sure if its made it across the pond (is that the right saying?) but brings a whole new meaning to the show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?". Haha.

  18. I prefer the shorter posts. Posts that get too long might become a chore to read, especially if the reader isn't super interested in the topic.

  19. oh dear... i just realized that my blog is a loser blog ~_~...

  20. @Electric addict it is surprisingly fun

@ipenka It's more than likely for Americans because their education system is grade based, so I guess that a fifth grade reading level is what you would expect a fifth grader to be able to read.

@Shaw indeed they can, but like many people, when I'm interested in a topic I will rant your ass off about it. But thanks for the feedback.

@Indistinctive Writer no your blog is far more accessible if you hit a lower reading level :)

  21. Thats an interesting tool but i think its missing something. It rated my site at a grade 4 level and i cant even understand myself? oh wait, maybe im just stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Major.Mack lol your site does look like it should get a bit higher than grade four. Depends on what you set it for, either the full website or a post, I think you'll get a higher score for just a post.
