Not A Music Post

I know, two traditions broken in two days, but I felt like rather than posting a song, which has people on one side of the fence or another, I'd post something everyone loves, comedy! This is a round from the English program Mock The Week (though there are many foreign versions). This round is called Scenes We'd Like To See, in which the host suggests a topic, and the contestants come up with something funny on it. If you've watched Who's Line Is It Anyway? then this is essentially the same as Scenes From A Hat. In fact both shows are made by Dan Patterson. Mock The Week is a pretty funny program. Or was, it kinda went downhill after Frankie Boyle left, and then very downhill after Russell Howard left. It was so far up the hill that I'll still watch it, and it can still cling on, but the quality seems to decline after every series. Anyway, rather than depress you all, I wanted to make you laugh, so enjoy!

  4. @Mai Yang I have something you're really going to enjoy coming up next week if you enjoy accents :P

@Rohan92 I'm still waiting for that to happen on a science program.

@Fang You mean how I've changed a lot of things, or do you actually think I can be quite the anti-conservationist? :P I'm all for some forms of conservatism, as long as what you are conserving is worth it.

@My 2 Pesos Even with all your hilarious posts?

  5. If you think Frankie Boyle was funny on that go and see him live.

The man is so wrong and so hilarious, and when it's his show he can say all the stuff he would never get away with on the telly.

  6. @Dirtycowgirl I'm one of the people who think that really he benefited from the boundaries of MTW. He was funny live sure, but as it went on, he just spent most of his time insulting the audience and say what would be the most "shocking" thing to say. Eventually it just got all samey and tiresome. He swapped being funny for being shocking and "Controversial".

  7. I remember the US version of this. I LOVED that show. It was called "whose line is it anyway". It was hosted by Drew Carey. Incredibly funny. Thanks for reminding me of it, even if it's not the same show.

  8. @Hasidic Plumber Over here we have a channel called Five USA, as you might have guessed they air American shows, though it is mostly repeats of CSI. I used to watch Whose Line Is It on there pretty much every day, I seriously loved that show. Maybe I'll upload some kickass hoe downs and such.

  18. @Henry Glad you liked it. This round is one of the more famous ones, there are a lot of them to be found.

@Generally Disgruntled They are sometimes. I still want my Christmas back.

@Aamador it can get stale when things start to get a bit too predictable, but anything gets less good after constant exposure.

@Miss Sassy Pants Even being English I sometimes don't get the jokes ^^

@DWei I knew this place was full of depression and such lately >_>

@Major.Mack Thanks, the current series actually ends this week, but like I said it's just not as good to me.

@Indistinctive Writer it can be fun to come up with your own answers lol, I like that one.

  21. Bob: I have silly sense of humor. I doubt almost anybody else than me finds those Kazz videos, that I post, funny for example. :/

  22. Why am I replying to myself.. heh. Oh well.

  23. lol Bob, you would be replying to me. I find those Kazz videos quite funny myself actually. I can laugh at pretty much anything.

  24. I saw Frankie Boyle live once and it was the most hostile atmosphere I've ever experienced at a comedian's show. I really enjoyed it but I wouldn't see him again. Though I do agree about the show going down hill since he's left.

  25. @Hazel I would watch one of his DVD's but I doubt I would ever actually go to a live show of his. The guys behind MTW are actually coming up with another new show, another improv one, this one closer to Whose Line, it even has some of the people from there. I think it could go well if it's not restrained by the news, but for me it's like them admitting that MTW is dying a slow and painful death.
