I Can Round Up Too

I got a pretty decent idea. I can turn Saturday into a weekly round up day. I tend to post a lot of things that are deep and what not, and not everyone comes here every day, so I can, and probably SHOULD, have a day where I do a weekly round up. That way you can just come on Saturday if you miss a day or two, and see if there is something that would have caught your interest, or check the last Saturday round up, just generally it's a good way to make sure you didn't miss something you would have liked to read, and I can be lazy over the weekend lol. This should lower my stress levels, and help improve the longevity and quality of this space right here. So without further ado, here is what happened this week on my blog (minus tomorrow, which is music day yay!)

On Monday I talked about the over-use of words, specifically the word "epic". I also talk a little about what some words actually mean, how much it annoys me when other people don't know what they mean, and at the end  there is a grammar lesson.

On Tuesday I wrote a letter to myself at sixteen years old, as per the request of both Hazel and The Indistinctive writer as part of my writing challenge.

On Wednesday I talked about how fans can make or break a franchise, and how they should learn to behave. I also talk about how non-fans should behave as well, and that basically we should be less of a dick towards eachother.

On Thursday I talked about how I was wondering whether I should keep up the post a day thing. Bersercules suggested turning Saturdays into something a bit lazier because he doesn't post on the weekends himself, so that's one part of how I came up with this idea.

Last but not least on Friday I talked about how you shouldn't be so quick to judge people based on their physical appearance, but accepted still that we were doomed to do this when it came to choosing a mate at least.

So there you have it. That's what I did this week. Next week expect some more fun irreverent posts. Tomorrow should hopefully be a special music post if I get drunk enough and remember to do things. Getting drunk and remembering do not go hand in hand though. I guess turning each day into a link to that post, while convenient for you, is not so convenient for me, and certainly makes doing this less of a lazy experience than I anticipated.

SOMETHING AWESOME I DID: As part of the writing challenge, Dirtycowgirl (that's her blog, click it) asked me to write a story about a cowgirl who is afraid of horses. It was up there yesterday, or soon. But there are a few things I want you to know about it. I wrote it in an hour and a half. I wrote it all in one go, and I didn't plan it at all. I make no guarantees of quality but she liked it, that's all that matters.

One last point I'm wondering if I am full of regret yet, me and Jesse got pretty drunk, especially her, and we started singing to her girlfriend and I posted some weird things on Twitter like "I want to feel his sweet sticky salvation all over my face". It's a South Park referrence and my sister saw it lol. I'm not sure what she thinks she said, "MARK!!!!!!!!!!11". I think she thinks me and Jesse were getting busy while the kids were around lol.

  1. Drunken tweeting/facebooking is second only to drunk dialing/texting. I just got home from a particularly bingeworthy night of alcohol and gambling, and I probably drunkenly texted three of my exes and about a half a dozen other people who reside in my phone. Stay the course.

  3. @Generally Disgruntled Sadly I didn't go that far. Jessie was constantly trying to get me to do it. I just wasn't that drunk

  10. I don't know what the heck sticky salvation is, and i'm not sure if i want to know it either.
Regarding the weekly recap, it's a good idea. I should start doing it again.

  11. @Hasidic Plumber If you don't know what the joke is then no I'm not going to explain it to you. It's about Jesus though. I'm gonna burn in Hell easily. I think a weekly round up really has a place here.

  13. Looking at your week I feel kind of lazy considering I've dropped to 2-3 posts a week now. Derp.

  14. I'm pretty drunk so the only thing i got to say is : epic! ;)

  15. @A Lunatic Pope I'm not sure I want your salvation.

@DWei Your life is way busier than mine ^^ Next week I'll be posting every day but I'm going to be a lot lazier lol.

@Michael Westside Aye, I'll let you get off with that, I got drunk last night myself, and it was fun.

  16. Epic post as always!

I like the idea you have for saturdays, it allows me to reminice over the week and remember the topics covered! (and allows me to remember to constintly say epic to you as a fun way to annoy someone!)

As for saying dirty things on the internet that others can miss read: Good, that is how life should be! A series of miscommunications that are funny and amusing! (or I just watch to much TV)

  17. @Bersercules Nope that is how life should be, drunk dialing people and saying things that can easily be misread like "back when I was your age, gay meant something real" which is something else I Said lol.

  18. I love these "weeks in review" they definately a good idea to sum up the week! Especially when weeks these days seem to go by so fast!

  19. I'm starting to round up, too.

  21. I am disappoint. I woke up this afternoon with a couple of texts wondering what the hell I was talking about.

  22. @Henry even you might miss a day or two :P I are disappoint at your new picture.

@Generally Disgruntled Hah that's what Jesse had, she has unlimited texts on her phone, so that was bound to end up fun. I barely use my phone and I just wasn't that drunk.

  23. I would get it. I waste far too much time watching South Park.
I have often thought that if someone could invent a sensor for mobiles that will not let you use it if it detects alcohol they would make a fortune.

The worst thing I ever did was send a text to the 'new' fella at 2am telling him to come round, but sent it to the ex.
    Who turned up 20mins later.
Lets just say he didn't get the welcome he was hoping for.

  24. @Dirtycowgirl You just get more awesome. Jessie was way more drunk than me, and she was the one with the phone. She did accidentally text something to my sister that was meant for someone else, just because I told her to so she just did it automatically. She also said to her that I said "You should carve a girls name into your forehead, not your chest, so she can see it or it's pointless." I also posted that to Twitter.

  25. That seems like a good idea! (:
Lmao, drunken tweets are always funny... or very strange ><

  26. i wish i could post as much as you! nice one

  27. @Dora I recently had a crisis of whether or not I could keep posting like this, so sometimes I wish I could post as much as I do too :) It's not so good to post this much though, it means I'm more likely to run out of ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh wow that's very useful, especially because I love your posts but haven't got time to check ur blog out every day. Good idea!

  29. I like the idea of summing up the week! Gives you some perspective and much needed material.

    Lol @ Tweet :D

  30. This is actually a really great idea! I always get stuck for what to post on the weekends as most people don't read them that much.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Cricketfreak I had people like you in mind when I did this ^^

@PeeVee It also means I have two days a week covered, but I still have to actually write this up lol

@Hazel Yes that is another good side to this, yesterday though I got a harsh lesson in keeping up with blogs because there were just too many updates lol.

  32. I noticed there isn't a lot of activity on weekends so i try to post during the week. I also try to limit myself to just 2 posts per week. I don't want to overwhelm myself plus it helps me get caught up on blogs I follow. And in addition, fewer post results in richer content, as at times, coming up with content can be a struggle. Not to mention daily posts can easily be overlooked since not all of us are on here everyday.

  33. @Danjor21 All good reasons why I decided to start doing a weekly round up :) Now you just have to come once a week to find out if there was something that you missed but would have wanted to read.
