Midweek Motivation

Alright yes I kind of stole that name from another blog, but I felt that after my depressing-ness of yesterday, I might as well spread some motivational cheer this time around. So without further ado, let's get on with the show.

"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, and forget about the ones who don't. And believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it, if it changes your life, let it. No one said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it"

Normally people just shorten this to the last sentence, or they just aren't aware of the rest of it, but I, my friends, am far from normal. It's a good thing to keep in mind, all of it is.

"You are fine exactly as you are. Your curves, words, flaws, strengths, thoughts. You don't need to change, you aren't ugly, fat, stupid, or worthless. You are you."

I think given the tone of this one, it's centred more at the ladies, but we can all take something nice from it. I kinda wish someone had said things like this to me when I was younger, and even now actually lol, it's one of the reasons I do this segment, to say to people who might need it, what they need to hear, I know what it's like to either not have someone, or be unable to talk to them, so I try to be the person you can talk to, who is there for you.

"Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself"
Don't worry about who you are, you can change that at any time with enough willpower. Stop trying to find yourself, and get round to creating yourself :)

Hope this cheers you up slightly after the wrist cutting fest that yesterday turned out to be, and hope you're still alive to read this actually. Have fun and stay classy.

  2. @Timothy Bowen I do what I can, I've found the "silver lining" in the oddest of places. No matter the situation I can usually come up with an "At least"

  3. I find the phrase "you're fine as you are" a bit difficult sometimes. Yeah people are great as there are but in every life there is a room for improvement, can you really tell someone not to change when they could be a better them?

  4. Unfortunately, it may take a little more than to de-funk my mind.

  9. @JDC Well that's where the phrase "Fine" comes into play. Fine implies there's room for improvement, and like you said, there is always room for improvement. I'm "fine" how I am, but I'm still working on improving myself. I consider "You're fine as you are" not saying "Don't improve yourself" but "Don't get too bummed out, remember you can always be better, but until then, you're okay".

  10. Well, I'm glad there's no wrist cutting today. Personally, I've never understood the concept of 'finding yourself.' Like, your whole life you've just been floating through mindlessly, and only after you go on some epic mind quest will you understand who you really are. That only happens in really lame romance novels.

  11. @A Beer for the Shower One of my favourite comedians said "What if you find yourself, and it turns out he's a dick too?" always makes me laugh. There are people who have things inside them sure, that they don't know about, but it's just usually something like a deep psychosis. No one really wants to find that lol.

  12. Oh God, those cliché quotes and sayings. Bluh. (Not saying they don't caryr any truth, just saying they're waaay too overused and thus have lost most of their value.)

  13. "No one said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it"
Who promised that? No one promised anything to me. :/

If someone is fat or worthless it's not fine. He should try to change it, not be content with it.

  18. I kind of needed this, though optimistic, motivational quotes tend to make me cringe. It's like someone goes 'yeah, you have no idea what you're going to do with your life, but don't worry, just smile and tomorrow will be better'. Good to know that yesterday (as the day that was mentioned in this post) wasn't a rather bad day and night only for me :D
