I'm actually a bit of a pro-wrestling fan, and I just want to say, I know it's basically an ochestrated soap opera with less violence. I don't really need a load of people making the point that I don't know the vast majority of it is faked. For those who didn't know, welcome to the club, enjoy your stay. Maybe I'll make a post about each Wrasslin show I watch, it'll give me something to write about to make sure I'm still writing even when I can't think of a great deal.
One thing though that didn't seem fake lately was the actions of CM Punk at the end of the last show of RAW, in case you missed it, check out this video, which may or may not work as I want.
Yeah, seems it didn't work like I want it to, you'll have to click on the link, but trust me, it's totally worth it. Scratch that I got it to work :) yay me! As I was saying, this video really is worth it. Punk makes some very good points, and all his attacks hit deep, and they hit well. He really is the best with a microphone. He dominated the commentary world, and I've even seen a video of after RAW of him dominating the singing world by singing Chicago, by Frank Sinatra. He's right when he said "I don't suck, Vegas sucks, that was awesome".
That video existing is one of the things that makes me doubt the legitimacy of this, these might be actual gripes he has, and anyone who really knows about wrestling knows that most of what he said is true, but that doesn't mean that Vince didn't let him do this. Vince cut the mics power, and shut down the show during Punks rant, and suspended him, if thats the case, why is he singing just after RAW has gone off the air? If they were that worried they wouldn't have given him back the power. Either way this has been one of the most entertaining things out of WWE (Word Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT) in quite some time.
Punk's contract with WWE ends in 2 weeks, at the next PPV, and although he's been suspended, he has been let off as long as he continues only his house show performances, no word on if he'll be on RAW, and both him and WWE don't say anything bad about the other. His contract ending, and his apparant decision not to renew it, are the cause of this, he's getting out what he feels while he can, he's going out with a bang, and he wanted to leave with the championship. I guess he didn't learn from the Montreal Screwjob in '97.
Like I said, I don't know if this was real or not, the general consensus is that it was real, all I know is that it was good. I mostly watch wrasslin these days because it's part of my routine, not much of it actually entertains me anymore, and I really am sick of everything John Cena stands for, everything they say he is, but after learning more about him as a person, I can't hate the person he really is, just who Vince made him. I would say I look forward to more Punk, he really is great, and it'll be a shame for the WWE to lose one of the few real talents they have, but if this was real, I doubt he'll be making another appearance, even if John Cena says that he expects him to be at Money In The Bank, the next PPV, the day his contract expires.
If Punk does jump ship, I hope he jumps to a televised ship, I would watch any show he was on just to see and hear my straight edge saviour. Although I'm only technically straight edge because I can't afford to drink, it's not like it's deliberate lol
Did you watch the video, or RAW? Do you agree with Punk? Do you even like wrestling? Whatever your views, please, feel free to share them.
